Knot Okay Club is a 501(C)3 nonprofit organization promoting community and creative coping skills for Black women and nonbinary people through fiber arts.
Our free monthly programming is designed to:
Create and maintain a safe, inclusive meeting space
Increase awareness + representation of Black fiber artists
Promote fiber arts as a mental health support tool
Encourage social gatherings to combat loneliness epidemic
Create and promote business opportunities for Black women
Foster intergenerational knowledge-sharing and mutual aid
Dismantle the stereotype that fiber arts are only for white women and senior citizens
Knot Okay Club was founded in Brooklyn, New York in 2022 by multidisciplinary artist and sociologist Camryn Easley. Since then, the organization has established 5 state chapters (NYC, DMV, CHI, ATL and St Paul) and organically grown to 4,000+ members and 40,000+ supporters internationally.
KOC members, known as "Knotty Grrlz" represent the ideological pillars of sisterhood, freedom of expression and the collective fight against gender-based violence, misogynoir, homophobia and racism globally.
